There are few parts of our daily life that are untouched by technology. When it comes to health and wellness, we use technology to track our nutrition, monitor our vital signs and motivate us to exercise. But the ever-present device does more to our health than we think. Eye or wrist strain and back pain are increasing physical issues resulting from too much technology. Shortening attention span, an inability to retain information and even social emotional issues such as “Facebook Depression” are also becoming more common.

Today, Fort Zumwalt School District is encouraging students and families to take a tech break. Whether it’s reading a book, playing outside, playing a board game or going for a walk, take time to unplug. It does a body good!
